Jose Marti Art Show in Guatemala
The painting exhibition "Jose Marti, Our America," was inaugurated at Guatemala s Metropolitan Cultural Center, in honor of the Cuban National Hero s 154th birth anniversary.

Cuban first Deputy Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla presided over the opening of the display, which includes works by about 30 national and foreign artists.

"There may be no other example in world history like Marti, a person who in only one year left such a wonderful impression in the culture and life of the Guatemalan people," Cuban Ambassador Omar Morales said.

Similarly, the diplomat thanked the gesture of the Fine Arts Workers Union, the Metropolitan Center, as well as institutions and workers who helped with the exhibit which, he said, "reflects the brotherhood between our peoples."

This year marks the 130th anniversary of Jose Marti s arrival in Guatemala, where he worked as professor.
