Spirit Airlines Announces Nonstop Service to San José for only  ˘8 Cents
Spirit Airlines announced nonstop service between its Fort Lauderdale hub and San José, Costa Rica beginning April 5, 2007.

Service will initially be offered three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays increasing to daily service by May 23, 2007.

San José is Spirit's 16th destination in Latin America and the Caribbean and 33rd overall. Costa Rica will be Spirit's first Central American country served.

In addition to nonstop service from its Fort Lauderdale hub, Spirit will also offer connecting service to San José from its domestic network. Spirit serves all routes with its fleet of Airbus aircraft, the youngest in the Americas.

"We are thrilled to be offering our terrific, low fare service to one of Central America's most beautiful countries," said Luis Zuniga, Spirit's Marketing Representative and Native of Costa Rica.

"We're looking forward to taking Floridians to enjoy Costa Rica whether it's to reconnect with family or take advantage of the vast opportunities for eco-tourism. Likewise, Spirit is providing an excellent low fare option to Costa Rica for travel to enjoy the amenities of South Florida."

"The United States continues to be our primary business partner and the entrance of Spirit Airlines is incredibly important to open new possibilities so that North Americans can visit our country," said Carlos Ricardo Benavides, Minister of Tourism.

Introductory coach fares between Fort Lauderdale and San José, start at 8 cents each way when purchased at spiritair.com by today,  January 25, 200, for travel on select dates. Spirit Airlines will also offer each way fares starting at $69 on additional dates when purchased at spiritair.com by February 7, 2007.
