Cuban Economy Reliant on Science
and Technology
Cuban science will expose its
advances in dealing with
socio-economic and environmental
challenges at the 15th Forum of
Science and Technology.
The event will help show how
strong will helps Cuba keep or
sets in motion new projects
despite the tech lag ailing some
sectors due to the US economic,
commercial and financial
blockade.
A jury led by Academy of
Sciences President Ismael Clark
will study 431 works from 2,500
plus authors picked among near
two million submitted to the
event.
The List of relevant Cuban
inventions includes
environmentally safe refrigerant
LB-12 that replaced hundreds of
tons of Freon 12, regulated by
Protocol of Montreal.
Other achievements boosted
production nickel production in
Moa, Holguin, and the
biotechnology and pharmaceutical
industries.
