San José - Orotina Road To Be CLOSED At Night Beginning Tomorrow
For those travelling from and to San José to points like Atenas, Orotina, Jaco, Quepos and other points take note that the main road from Manolos cut off (the Recope tanks west of the airport) to San Mateo will be TOTALLY closed during the evenings beginning tomorrow.

The work will begin tonight (MOonday), however, the road will be partially closed and controlled by the Policía de Tránsito. Beginning tomorrow night, (Tuesday)  the road will be completely closed from 10:00pm to 5:00am.

The Consorcio Demarcación Vial will be carrying out the badly needed lane painting on the road at a cost of ¢48 million colones and will require a complete closure due to the narrowness of the road and to ensure the safety of the workers.

The work, which will be carried out over the next two weeks, that will include lane painting, road reflectors and signs to warn drivers of the curves, entrances and dangers ahead.

If you need to travel to and from Orotina during the evening, an alternate route is the Interamericana to Esparza or Caldera.

Once that work is finished, the lane painting will be carried on the 20 kilometre stretch of the Autopista Bernardo Soto from the Juan Santamaría (San José) international airport to San Ramón. That work will continue for about 40 nights with temporary partial closures along the route.
