Jacó Gets Fire Station
Yesterday (Sunday) was the
official opening of the fire
station in the Cantón de
Garabito, located in the
Complejo Las Nubes, one
kilometre and a half from the
Herradura entrance.
The fire station which will
serve Jacó and Herradura beaches
and surrounding areas, is
equipped with equipment so that
firefighters can attend to area
emergencies.
The fire station was established
with the support and donations
from the local community and
private companies that donated a
fire truck.
The Instituto Nacional de
Seguros (INS) - the state
insurance company that runs the
fire department - has agreed to
pa the salary of six full time
firefighters.
