Salvadorans for Justice after
War
After violations of human rights
during the civil war, around 30
Salvadoran social organizations
in the Coalition for peace,
Dignity and Social Justice
demanded justice Friday.
During the armed conflict
between Salvadoran Army and
guerrilla of Frente Farabundo
Marti para la Liberacion
Nacional (FMLN) 75,000 people
died, most of them civilians,
assassinated by the so-called
death squads.
From 1980-1992, Atlacatl and
Atonal troops and infantry
soldiers perpetrated massacres
such as El Mozote or La Quesera,
both at the end of 1981.
Army actions and paramilitary
groups left besides 8,000 people
disappeared and 12,000 people
disabled.
The group emphasizes the fact
that "people neither forget nor
forgive until truth and justice
are applied and victims
compensated."
