Last Days of Palmares Festival
In two days the Palmares festival will come to a close and for the last days the organizers of the annual event are pulling out all the stops.

Last night visitors to Palmares experienced what is being called the best closing for a night, when a parade of more than kilometre became the highlight of the festivities, as thousands lined up to see the show.

Organizers say that this year the got more people than ever, attributing the increased attendance to the cancellation of the Zapote Fair in San José in December.

The Palamares festival continues until Monday.

Also on hand between 150 and 200 Tránsito (traffic) officers are keeping an eye on drivers, stopping vehicles to and from Palmares.
