Cold To Continue Until Sunday
Better hang on to that windbreaker for a couple of more days, as the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman - predicts that the cold strong winds will hang in there until Sunday.

The temperature last night in the Central Valley hit a low of 16.3C (61.3F), the second lowest on record this year when it hit a low of 16.1C (60.1F) on January 8.

According to Rosario Alfaro of the IMN, the low temperatures are from a high pressure system from the U.S., which causes winds to accelerate and carrying cold from the north.

Alfaro says that the winds that reached speeds of 60 Kmh should diminish by Sunday and bring warmer weather. However, Alfaro added, the real warm weather will not be with us until March.

The beach areas are not affected by the cold weather in the Central Valley.
