Gasoline Prices Dropped Today,
Another Drop Approved For Next
Week
The price of gasoline keeps
dropping. The latest drop was at
the stroke of midnight last
night, dropping the price of a
litre of super and regular by
¢13 colones and ¢15 colones for
diesel.
The price drop is the second
drop approved this year by the
Autoridad Reguladora de los
Servicios Públicos (Aresep). The
approval on the Recope request
came last week but it did not
become official until published
in the official government
publication, La Gaceta,
yesterday.
Yesterday, the Aresep also
approved another round of gas
price drops that will come into
effect next week. The approval
yesterday was not at the request
of Recope but by the Aresep,
feeling a need to lower gasoline
prices.
Next week, the price of gasoline
will drop another ¢22 colones
for a litre of super and regular
and ¢14 for diesel.
The price drops are based on
dropping prices of crude oil on
international markets and the
warm winter being experienced in
the United States, Recope
officials say.
Today, a litre of super gasoline
costs ¢475, down from
yesterday's ¢488; regular ¢447,
down from ¢460; and a litre of
diesel, ¢349, down from ¢364.
Next week, the price of a litre
of super will drop to ¢453,
regular ¢425 and diesel ¢335.
