Fidel Castro Was Right about
Posada
The denunciations Cuban
President Fidel Castro made over
a year ago on notorious
Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada
Carriles entrance to the US were
confirmed by the US Department
of Justice.
"The Commander in Chief was
always right. Posada Carriles
entered US territory on board
the Santrina ship," Granma daily
commented today in its front
page.
The Cuban president has repeated
the denunciation since the
criminal was enjoying refuge in
the US in March 2005, but
Washington always avoided the
truth, the daily indicates.
A federal jury in Texas has
brought a formal accusation
against Posada Carriles, with
seven charges for fraud in the
naturalization process and six
for providing false information
during interviews with
immigration officers.
On April 11, 2005, nineteen days
after Carriles arrived in the
US, Fidel Castro urged US
President George W. Bush to tell
whether or not he was hiding the
man considered the mastermind of
several attacks in the Islands.
"Even if he were tried for the
charges presented and even more
so condemned to the sentences
corresponding to those crimes,
according to the US laws, Fidel
Castro would continue being
right," the Granma article
reads.
But the US will never try Posada
Carriles for terrorism, because
then it would have bring its
crimes against Cuba before
justice, the daily stressed.
