Honduras Readies to Reduce Crime
Honduran Security Minister Alvaro Romero confirmed on Friday that, due to last year´s increase in violence, Criminal Investigation Department (DGIC) will have priority in logistic and staff support.

The minister indicated crime increased to 11 murders daily in 2006, and that 400 new investigators are being trained and will go to different regions of the country.

According to Romero, besides increasing the number of people it is also planned to set up labs and equipment because, he admitted than the police.

The high-ranking official promised to reduce crime rates and increase citizen security in Honduras.
