Nicaragua's Ortega To Humble
Start
Nicaraguan President, Sandinista
Daniel Ortega started on
Thursday his five-year mandate
from a new presidential office,
although he will be in permanent
contact with the people.
"We are going to be where the
people are, in neighborhoods and
the countryside," Ortega said on
Wednesday night in front of tens
of thousands followers gathered
at the capital's Plaza de la Fe,
to celebrate his return to
power.
Rosario Murillo, spokeswoman of
the Sandinista National
Liberation Front and since
Wednesday Nicaragua's First
Lady, stated that Ortega will
soon leave the Presidential
Palace and set up offices at the
more modest Olof Palme
Conference Center.
