Panama Shapes New Peoples Party
Sectors of the National Front
for the Defense of Social and
Economic Rights (FRENADESO) are
working to create a new party
that represents an alternative
for the popular classes.
According to a report, the
Panamanian Workers Party (PTP),
which should be ready in the
coming days, aims at providing
laborers and popular sectors
with a political alternative
faced with the continuous
failure of neoliberal policies.
Besides, the new organization
wants to wipe out poverty and
guarantee the citizens access to
free and high-quality health and
education.
PTP organizers are union
leaders, and student and
campesinos bodies are part of
FRENADESO.
