Strong Winds Cause for Alert in
The Air and Sea
Strong winds have caused
authorities to declare a "green"
alert for the Caribbean and
north Pacific coasts.
The winds of the last several
days have caused waves as high
as 14 metres (45 feet) in the
affected areas, primarily in
Limón.
The Instituto Meteorológico
Nacional (IMN) - the weatherman
- is predicting that the strong
winds will intensify and
continue until tomorrow or even
Sunday.
In addition, the Aviación Civil
(Civil Aviation) and the
Guaradacostas (Coast Guard), to
avoid accidents, are keeping
pilots and navigators informed
of the changing weather
conditions, as small aircrafts
and boats can be severely
affected by the strong gusts of
wind
