A Day For
The Motherland
Those opposed to the Tratado de
Libre Comercio (TLC) - free
trade agreement with the United
States - will be out on the
streets of Costa Rica today to
force the country's legislators
to vote against the trade deal.
The major concentration wil be
in San José, where tens of
thousands are expected to take
part, marching through downtown
San José and ending up at the
doors steps of the Legislative
Assembly.

When it comes to buying a
cellular phone in Costa Rica, a
little sticker on the packaging
can make all the difference,
guaranteeing that the unit is
new and works perfectly in Costa
Rica. However, some cellular
phone vendors disagree, saying
that the vendor is what give the
units quality.

Costa Rica Cruise Eludes Media
The
group of 12 tourists from the
Carnival cruise ship Liberty,
who were attacked by three armed
muggers in Costa Rica last week,
made it safely back to Port
Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on
Sunday.
Government’s Revenues Improve
Regarding finances, the
Government of Costa Rica started
on the right foot this year. In
January, the taxes collected
were 43% more than in the same
month last year.
