Alajuela Announces Program To
Pick Up "Non Traditional"
Garbage
Residents of Turrurcares and La
Garita in Alajuela will be able
to take advantage of the pick up
of "non traditional" garbage
this Sunday.
Normally, the garbage truck will
not haul off trash like grass
cuttings, tree branches,
construction material and non
traditional garbage, leaving it
up to the ingenuity of residents
to dispose, some of which ends
up in the empty lots and rivers.
For this reason, the
Municipalidad de Alajuela
announced that their garbage
trucks will be out on Sunday in
the areas of Turrucares and La
Garita, soutwest of downtown
Alajuela, and will carry of
things like tires, washing
machines, bottles, refrigerators
and any other types of trash
that residents want have to
throw at them.
The plan is to eliminate the
spreading of diseases caused by
the thrash strewn about in empty
lots, rivers and the side of the
roads.
Municipal officials said that
the program will continue in
downtown Alajuela, Barrio San
José and Tambor the following
Sunday and then to other areas.
