Gas Price Hike Tomorrow
Its probably best to fill your
gas tank today, because at the
stroke of midnight tonight, the
approved price increases go into
effect.
The officials government
publication, La Gaceta,
published the price hike that
was approved by the Autoridad
Reguladora de Servicios Públicos
(Aresep) last week.
The price of a litre of super
gasoline jumps ¢10 colones,
while regular jumps ¢11 colones
and deisel ¢12 colones.
This is the first gas price hike
in 2007, following a series a
price drops during the last half
of last year.
The Refinadora Costarricense de
Petroleo S.A. (Recope) blames
the price hike on the severe
cold in the United States and
Canada that has increased demand
and pushed up crude oil prices
on world markets.
