Tremor Shakes Nicaraguan Pacific
An earth tremor of 4.6 on the Richter scale shook the north Pacific of Nicaragua on Saturday, but neither victims nor material damage were reported, according to an official source.

The release of Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies says the tremor took place at 05:51 local time, off the Fonseca Gulf, and 147 miles northwest of Managua.

The epicenter of the tremor was 18 miles deep and according to expert Martha Herrera the tectonic processes are the result of the crash of Cocos and Caribe plates.
