Water and Fruit Recommended to
Beat the Heat
While North America is gripped
by severe cold and snow, Costa
Rica is basked in sun and heat.
It is so hot that it feels like
Semana Santa (Easter Week), the
traditional hot temperatures of
March and April and not in
February.
The last couple of days it has
been so hot in San José in
surrounding areas that people
have begun to stay indoors and
using umbrellas for sun shade.
The record heat is expected to
continue into the weekend.
Experts recommend that during
the next several days, in
addition to drinking more
fluids, eating fruits is also
good. Watermelon, melon, and
drinking orange juice will help
the body get the necessary
vitamins and make you feel
fresh. Adults should drink eight
cups of water daily, children
from six to eight.
Keeping hydrated is very
important during these hot days.
