Morales-Lula Have Upbeat Meeting
Brazil´s International Presidential Advisor Marco Aurelio Garcia described Bolivian President Evo Morales visit to Brazil as positive for both countries.

He explained that the priority issue, in the unexpectedly long meeting between Morales and Brazil s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, related to the gas Bolivia sells Brazil.

The good results will be disclosed in a public communiqué after the meetings take place, announced Garcia, who made it clear "there was no resistance on any issue and the discussion between presidents was unrestricted and with positive results on both sides."

The presidential advisor revealed that Lula and Morales reached about 15 agreements, among them financing a highway to link La Paz with Brazil and Peru.

There is also a gas pipeline project to export Bolivian gas to the southern Brazilian States of Parana and Rio Grande do Sul, as well as to Paraguay and Uruguay, he disclosed.

Morales, on his first state visit to Brazil, came accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister David Choquehuanca, Energy and Hydrocarbons Minister Carlos Villegas and Rural and Agricultural Development Minister Susana Rivero.

According to the local Foreign Ministry, the visit was an opportunity for the presidents to consolidate bases for a strategic society dedicated to consensus solutions on bilateral issues, with mutual benefit and on a fair and well-balanced base.
