US-Central America Migration
Plan Underway
Deputies from Mexico and Central
America will create a common
bloc to boost a comprehensive
migration proposal and submit it
to the US, announced the
coordinator of migration from
the Institutional Revolutionary
Party (PRI).
Edmundo Ramirez, the head of
this working group, explained
that in the meeting with US
congressmen and legislators from
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras
and El Salvador, they agreed to
boost a Reform to the Mexican
Population General Law to avoid
the criminalization of
migration.
If Washington is demanded to
eliminate deals with criminals
and terrorists, then Mexican
Laws must be reformed as well.
They are very severe against
central and south American
immigrants, commented the
secretary of the Population,
Borders and Migration Affairs
Commission.
The PRI deputy said that during
the US Congress visit they
committed to work on a
comprehensive migration
agreement that if passed will
allow 300 thousand Latin
Americans to work in this
neighbouring country every year.
