Argentina Focuses Cuban Book
Fair
The 16th International Book Fair
is expected to get warm Saturday
with attractive offers led by
Argentina as a honorary guest,
and a crowd of readers eager to
see the South American country"s
proposal.
One of the main course will be
the panel on outstanding
journalist, writer and
researcher Rodolfo Walsh
(1927-1977), founder of Prensa
Latina, by Miguel Bonasso and
Lilia Ferreira.
Today"s program also includes
masterly lectures, one by
Osvaldo Bayer entitled "Los
pueblos originarios," and
another by sociologist Horacio
Gonzalez.
Over 50 books will be also
launched today, among them "Raul
Roa, director of culture: a
policy, a magazine," by Danay
Ramos, "El tango," de Horacio
Salas" and "Miami otra vez" by
Leonelo Abello.
Children, the most privileged
ones in the fair, could purchase
books like "Coti viaja a
Argentina," by Cecilio Aviles,
"Las aventuras de Pinocho," by
Carlos Collodi, and "Ojos del
Sur," by Aristides Hernandez.
The Book Fair 2007 will last
until February 18 in the
capital, but extend to other 39
cities and conclude in eastern
Santiago de Cuba province March
11.
