Super Gas Going Up Too
Super gasoline was not passed
over in the recent requests for
increases by the Refinadora
Costarricenses de Petróleo (RECOPE).
Yesterday, days after making the
same request for diesel and
regular gasolines, Recope
submitted a request to the
Autoridad Reguladora de los
Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) for
an increase of ¢10 colones per
litre.
When approved, the price of
super gasoline will jump from
the current ¢453 colones to ¢463
colones a litre.
Recope requested earlier this
week a hike of ¢11 colones for
diesel, raising the price per
litre from the current ¢335
colones; and hiking the price of
a litre of regular by ¢10
colones a litre from the current
price of ¢425 colones.
The new prices will go into
effect once the notice is
published in the officials
government publication, La
Gaceta, which is done within
five working days of the Aresep
approval.
The Aresep has not yet given
approval to any of the latest
Recope requests.
