3.000 illegals Rejected To Date
Coming into Costa Rica illegally is not as easy as in the past, immigration officials reveal with their rejection statistics.

This year to day, immigration officials have rejected some 3.000 who attempted to enter the country in an illegal manner.

Of the three thousand, the majority are Nicaraguan nationals, followed by 28 Panamanians, 10 Colombians and 5 Americans.

The border crossings at Peñas Blancas and Los Chiles, both in the northern sector bordering with Nicaragua, had the majority of the rejections on record.

All foreigners who tried to enter Costa Rica illegally where sent back to their country of origin, according to the immigration department.
