Immigration Begins Search For Wanted
Korean is not in Costa Rica
Despite
a comment by the Director de Migración, Mario
Zamora, that there are no
records that Seok Jung Myung
entered Costa Rica, the
immigration service is
conducting a search of the
Guanacaste area following
reports that he may be in Costa
Rica under the protection of the
Chinese mafia.
And despite that Myung is being
wanted worldwide, the Costa
Rican INTERPOL department says
it has not received an
"official" capture order for the
man.
Myung has been spotted around
the world in places like China,
Taiwan and Italy and is rumoured
to have made his way into Costa
Rica by way of Mexico and
Guatemala, using a Japanese
passport.
Immigration officials are
concentrating their efforts in
the Pacific beach areas of Coco,
Tamarindo, Flamingo and Nicoya,
where Myung could easily hide
out.
Given the strong suspicions that Myung
is in Central America and more
particularly Costa Rica, Costa
Rican authorities are not taking
this lightly and are working
effortlessly to verify or deny
the rumours.
"We have no reliable indication
that this person entered the
country", said Zamora on
Tuesday, adding that if he is
Costa Rica, Myung is not
travelling alone, accompanied by
parishioners as is the custom of
leaders of sects.
Myung is on the Interpol wanted
list for the sexual violation of
members of his sect.
