Mel Gibson Loves Costa Rica
Mel Gibson it appears loves
Costa Rica and visits at every
chance he gets, even if it to
attend a funeral, as he did when
was present at the funeral of
Mauricio Amuy's mother in
Punterenas last Monday.
Amuy, a Costa Rican actor who
was the star in Mel Gibson's
Apocalypto, said he was
surprised at the Gibson
attendance, especially since
Amuy is suing Gibson for the
removal of his name from the
film credits.
Those attending the funeral mass
at the Iglesia de Miramar heard
the loud sound of a helicopter
and saw a man protected by three
bodyguards get off and enter the
church. To their surprise it was
none other that the movie stat
and director himself.
Amuy said that Gibson came to
give his condolences personally.
"I believe he wanted to
ingratiate me", said Amuy. Amuy
added that, though the visit was
a surprise, his mother was well
known to all those who
participated in the filming of
Apocalypto and especially to the
people at ICON, Gibson's
production company.
