Saprissa, Liga Square Off Again Sunday
Tonight (Saturday) is the Festival de la Luz, an annual event, that beginning at 6:00pm will entertain thousands along the parade route and tens of thousands in their homes as the event is broadcast live.

Although the Festival de la Luz is a big event, an even bigger event will grip the nation on Sunday, when the two rivals, Saprissa and La Liga, square off again.

The Deportiva Liga Alajuelense or La Liga lost to the Deportivo Saprissa 1-0 in the first game of the semifinals.

The Saprissa lineup was successful against La Liga that Saprissa coach, Jeaustin Campos, said he will use the same line up in Sunday's game.

The soccer fever kicks off at 4:00pm, as the game being played at the Ricardo Saprissa stadium, is sure to paralyze the nation for the following 90 minutes and for hours and days of discussions that will follow.

The hot topic at the water cooler Monday morning will surely not be wonderful displays of the Festival de la Luz, nor the winning numbers of the Gordo Navideño, the Christmas lottery, but the results of the Liga-Saprissa game.

The fans will be on pins and needles throughout the game. If one team scores a goal, it will be the job of the other team to score two, to keep the advantage.

The game pits the two teams in a rivalry that is as long as soccer has been played in Costa Rica. But also brings the nation together, setting aside political differences, the TLC and other topics of the day, for the national pass time.
