Fear Of Big Earthquake Grows in Guanacaste
Some 200 families in the development project Vivienda Chorotega, in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, are living in fear following the earthquake of last Sunday.

The residents fear that a stronger earthquake than the 5.0 on the Richter scale registered Sunday may destroy their homes.

Sunday's tremor shook a number of the homes, collapsing a great wall, injuring one person.

Residents say that since the homes were built they complained about deficiencies in the construction and the earthquakes that are shaking and rolling Guanacaste during the season, they are in real danger.

Sunday's earthquake left some homes with gaping cracks in the floor, leaving residents to sleep with one eye open.

The affected families are asking intervention by the Comisión Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) to assist them making their homes safe.
