Volcán Turrialba Spews Gases
The Comisión Nacional de Atención de Emergencias (CNE) - national emergency commission - is recommending regulated access to the Volcán Turrialba after it spewed gases to three kilometres height.

The Turrialba, east of Cartago, is an active volcano and the eruption has moved an army of experts and scientists.

The CNE, however cautious, says that there is no need for alarm just yet, the volcano is in an unusual activity phase but within the range of normality.

In any event, the CNE has set up a series of radio bases for residents of the area to report activity on a 24 hours basis.

Yesterday's column of gases was due to the fact that there were no winds to blow away the smoke.
