American With Perfect UCR Entrance Exam Score
Silvio Lucio Curtis Guindon, a student of the Escuela de Los Amigos de Monteverde, got a perfect score on the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) admissions test. Curtis was called to appear in front of the Auditorio de la Escuela de Estudios Generales of the UCR where he received the award.

The 19 year old Curti was born in Pennsylvania, Curtis has been living with his family in Monteverde for the last four years, where he says he found a perfect blend of weather and environment to foster his love for ready and studies.

"I prepared myself with the pamphlet provided by the UCR, studied well the practices and didn't pay for any tutors", said the young man, adding that the day of the exams he got up early, got a little nervous at the beginning of the exam, however, he concentrated on the task at hand.

A perfect score is worth 800 points.

In the top ten scores with Curtis were, Yeison Panigua Rojas, 797.61; Adrián Castro Madrigal, 795.63: Ignacio Vieto Miranda, 793.05; José Murillo Hernández, 793.05; Javier Ballestero Vargas, 790.80; Manuel Arce Herold, 787.94; Franco Moiso Marín, 786.39; Loriana Sanabria Sancho, 785.95; and, Rebeka Hoepker Jiménez, 785.45

For the 2008 school calendar, to enter the UCR, a score of 442 points is required. Of the 34.095 students registered to take the exam, only 29.754 showed up, of which 18.478 scored above 442.
