In Brief...
Airlines Aborts Flight
Passengers of a fully
loaded Air Comet
airplane headed for
Spain got the scare of
their lives when the
flight returned to
ground shortly after
taking off at the Juan
Santamaría (San José)
international airport.
It was shortly after
1:00am when the pilot of
the Air Comet got a
warning of overweight
and decided to land the
aircraft. The
passengers were taken to
a nearby hotel while
ground crews examined
aircraft.
Birthday Gift Full of
Cocaine
Anti drug experts of
the Ministerio de
Seguridad Pública
thought suspicious of a
gift wrapped packaged
headed for England which
in fact contained 431
grams of cocaine.
The Policía Control de
Drogas (PCD) discovered
the package that was
presumably a birthday
gift, including a bow,
and nicely wrapped being
carried by a passenger
at the Juan Santamaría
(San José) international
airport.
The PCD said it never
amazes them the
ingenuity and creativity
of individuals who
attempt to smuggle drugs
out of the country. |
