Nicaraguan President Meets Spanish VP
Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega is due to meet in this capital Thursday with Vice President of the Spanish Government Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, who is touring the region.

After welcoming the visitor in private, Ortega expressed satisfaction with the presence of the Spanish delegation in Nicaragua.

The vice president of the Spanish government stated that this trip will step up historical ties of friendship and affection between both nations.

Fernandez de la Vega arrived in Nicaragua Wednesday night from Honduras, as part of a tour that also took her to Guatemala, and will take her later to Chile, Ecuador and Argentina.
