us$2,000 to Quintuplets
Costa Rican President Oscar Arias has donated
˘1 million
colones (us$2,000 dollars) to a
family that recently saw the
birth of quintuplets, said his
office in a statement on
Tuesday.
He made the donation after
visiting the Guzmán Rodríguez family.
He also brought the
babies clothes, diapers and
cribs donated by companies and
individuals who echoed his call
to help the family.
"Five children are a matchless
blessing, but it is important to
support this working-class
family to adjust to such a great
change. Let us hope that we will
be able to help them much more
in the future," Arias said.
Isaac, Raquel, Arianna, Dereck
and Samuel were born on March
22. Their father, Gerner Guzman,
works for the Labor Ministry,
and their mother, Gabriela
