Volleyball Team Comeback For Win
Costa Rica produced a memorable
comeback to win their first
match on their debut appearance
at the ongoing women's
volleyball World
Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
The 33rd-ranked Costa Ricans
fought back from two sets down
and saved four match points in
the fourth set to win a
pulsating Pool A encounter
19-25, 23-25, 25-16, 32-30, 15-9
yesterday. Costa Rica improved
to 1-3.
To win the match as Costa Rica
rallied from behind to carry the
day. Kenya’s bid to win a face
saving tie flopped once again as
they lost 3-2 to Costa Rica.
Kenya’s head coach Sadatoshi
Sugawara said Costa Rica had
tall and powerful players
compared to his team.
