Seven Down, One To Go
That is the tally for the eight prisoners who escaped from the La Reforma prison on October 9, as police yesterday captured fugitive number 7.

Douglas Quiros Happer, who is serving a 141 year sentence, was caught in the early hours of Saturday morning in Barrio El Carmen in Cartago, as police swooped in and surprised the man in his "rancho" where he was hiding out.

Happer was armed, however the capture did not result in any shots fired as the special police unit assigned to the capture moved quickly in the early morning hours before Happer could even know what had happened. Police also found newspaper clippings of stories of himself that the man had been collecting.

By lunch time, Happer was again behind bars at the La Reforma's maximum security prison in Alajuela, serving out his 141 years for robbery, of which he will actually only have to serve 33, for kidpnappiing and aggravated assault.

More charges will be added to his list which will add even more time to his current sentence.

Authorities said that Happer is one of the most dangerous of the eight escapees and were happy at their success in capturing the man without violence.

Police would not comment on the eight member of the group that is still at large.
