Guatemalans Confirm Mass Mobilization
Guatemala´s indigenous and farmers will march for the right to the land and against mining concessions.

Demonstrators from most departments of the country will gather at different points of this capital next Thursday, March 30, and march to the historic central Constitution Plaza.

Indigenous and religious people, farmers, housewives, sales people, and representatives of many other sectors will participate in this huge mobilization to demand an Integral Agrarian Reform and a solution to the agricultural conflicts.

The mobilization also protests the mining concessions to transnationals to the detriment of the indigenous communities.

The farm leaders denounced that the foreign companies barely pay the State one percent of their total gains for irrationally exploiting the soil.

Farmers demand that the natural resources be put at the service of the communities´ development, not the State´s.
