Growing Mango Exports
Last year, Costa Rica increased its mango exports by 43 percent, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.

This trend made of the fruit the most dynamic one in 2005, above other crops that have been strong in different markets, such as bananas and pineapples.

Costa Rica exported some 9,000 tons of fresh mangoes last year, and the leading buyer was Holland, followed by the United States and the United Kingdom.

Other consumers of Tico mangoes include Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Canada, Chile, Colombia, and Guatemala.
