Revolution In Costa Rica For Second Leg
The New England Revolution play Costa Rica champions Liga Deportiva Alajuelense tonight at 8:00 pm local time (9:00pm. ET) in the second leg of their quarterfinal series in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The winner of the aggregate goals series between the Revolution and Alajuelense, tied 0-0 after the first leg, moves on to the semifinals to play the winner of the Club America (Mexico) vs. Portmore United (Jamaica) series. Club America leads Portmore United 2-1 going into the second leg of their quarterfinal series this evening in Mexico City.

The winner of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup advances to play in the FIFA Club World Championship in Japan.

Similar to tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League (Europe) and the Copa Libertadores (South America), the CONCACAF Champions' Cup pits the top professional soccer teams in North America, Central America and the Caribbean against one another. The competition has crowned the CONCACAF champion since 1962. The Revs qualified for the CONCACAF Champions' Cup by winning the 2005 MLS Eastern Conference Championship.

LD Alajuelense, a two-time winner of the CONCACAF Champions Cup (1986, 2004), is the most successful club in Costa Rican soccer history.

Alajuelense holds the record for the most Costa Rican Primera División championships with 24 and is also the reigning champion of the 2005 UNCAF Cup - the Central American club championship.
