View over Migration Slammed
Negotiations for a migration
deal with the US is difficult
because of Mexican President
Vicente Fox´ "superficial
perception" of this phenomenon,
La Jornada daily opined Saturday
in Mexico City.
The newspaper supported
declarations by the statesman on
Thursday and Friday that assert
Washington would be imploring
Mexico to send workers in ten
years.
"It is so lamentable that Fox
does not plead for immigrants´
rights and, instead, makes
nonsensical comments," it noted.
La Jornada added that racism and
xenophobia have dangerously
grown during the Bush
administration, where illegal
migration has been criminalized.
