Smokers at Cohiba Factory
Cigar dealers and smokers from
over 60 countries are paying a
visit Thursday to El Laguito (Cohiba)
factory, where the world
renowned Cuban cigars are
rolled, to learn more about the
quality of these habanos.
According to organizers, the
factory will exhibit works by
artisans and painters that
symbolize the product not only
as a commodity, but also as
piece of art.
This time, the festival is
celebrating the 40th anniversary
of Cohiba, founded after the
triumph of the Cuban Revolution
in 1959, which has turned into a
symbol of cigars on the island.
Today´s agenda includes two
lectures: “Habano´s Presence in
Cuban National Culture” and
“Cigar Factory Readers in
Culture,” and a cigar rollers´
contest.
