Panama: Chavez Visit to Boost Cooperation
Trade between Panama and Venezuela will reach about one billion dollars by the end of 2006, with a boost expected in the wake of a visit by President Hugo Chavez to begin Jun 22.

The official agenda of Chavez' stay has been adjusted. However, cooperation agreements in energy and investment are expected to be signed between Chavez and his Panamanian counterpart Martin Torrijos.

Reliable sources told Prensa Latina an intensive work is underway, so that the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution can fulfill a tight agenda of official and collateral activities.

Chavez is expected to arrive early morning to meet with Torrijos at Las Garzas Palace. Both presidents are scheduled to lay a wreath at the foot of the statue of Bolivar, in Panama.
