Higher Gasoline Prices Coming Our Way
Get ready for another gas hike as the Refinadora Costarricense de Petrolelo (Recope) - the state monopoly on gasoline products - has asked for price increase of ¢27 colones for a litre of super and ¢26 colones for a litre of regular gasoline.

The hike, once approved by the Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Públicos (Arespe) - the government regulator of public prices and services - is approved it will be second hike this year, following an increase of ¢35 colones for super, ¢34 for regular and ¢16 for diesel, that came into effect last Friday.

The increase, according to Recope, is due to rising prices of crude oil on world markets.

This increase is expected to go into effect on February 24.
