Chavez: Historic World Social
Forum
President Hugo Chavez Friday
described the Sixth World Social
Forum in Caracas as historic,
stressing his nation´s
commitment to the very first
revolution of the 21st
century.WSF: Socialism Is
Possible
In a speech at the graduation of
423 education facilitators, part
of a large contingent committed
to help over a million adults
reach sixth grade level this
year, the Venezuelan president
praised the Cuban revolution
consolidated over 47 years and
the Bolivarian one begun in 1999
as permanently progressing.
"Venezuela and Cuba, counting on
mass support, organization,
awareness, popular strength and
real leadership are aimed at the
construction of a new way for
the world, which calls to be
changed in order to be saved,"
said Hugo Chavez and insisted in
the world"s need for the new
socialism.
World Social Forum participants
have focused their debates on
six main topics proposed by the
social organizations attending
the event.
"Power, policy and struggles for
social emancipation", "Imperial
strategies and peoples"
resistance", "Resources and
Rights for life", "Diversities,
identities and views in
movement", "Work, exploitation
and reproduction of life" and
"Communication, cultures and
education: democratic
alternatives and dynamics".
