Former Legislator to Jail For
Road Blocks
Former legislative depute and
now a community director, Celimo
Guido, was sentenced to one year
prison and to pay ¢15 million
colones, for his role in the
obstruction of public roads and
disrupting public services.
Guido was the force behind the
road blocks in 2003 in San
Ramón, to protest the Riteve
(vehicular inspection) monopoly.
The Tribunal de Juicio de
Alajuela found that Guido's
actions were against public
safety and imposed the jail
sentence, along with union
leader Rocío Cespedes.
