WSF Opens in Venezuela
The 6th World Social Forum (WSF) opens Tuesday in Caracas with a march along its main streets, packing together peace activists, intellectuals and representatives from indigenous movements and civilian organizations.

The demonstration will end with a political-cultural rally in which speakers and artists will condemn war, imperialism and neoliberalism.

The forum’s aim is to discuss six main issues, including policy, peoples’ resistance faced with neoliberal models, intercultural ties and media, among others.

The meeting will be also dedicated to the relation among the three Forums, one held in Bamako, Mali, the Caracas forum and one scheduled in Karachi, Pakistan.

There will be a mass rally on January 27 in which the head of State will speak, and his presence is also expected at a meeting with the World Social Movements Assembly, to analyze the WSF platform and the next campaigns to fight them.
