Drugs Penetrate Honduran Police
A probe by the Honduran anti-Drug Division (DLN) has shown the police in that Central American nation are plagued with drug trafficking.

DLN Chief Gen (r) Julian Aristides Gonzalez admitted the involvement of lower-ranking officers in some drug traffic networks, offering protection and tips on police raids, among other assistance.

Aristides Gonzalez revealed that some cases are already in court while others are nearing completion, and added that the millions of dollars this scourge moves around make it easy to use bribery.

Several neighboring countries, for example Guatemala, have reported this problem affects the higher echelon of drug enforcement, including the director, assistant director, and many agents.
