Evo for Regaining Sovereignty
President-elect of Bolivia Evo
Morales announced Thursday he
will put a process into motion
to regain sovereignty and
dismantle neoliberalism, as well
as re-establish the Ministry of
Planning.
In a news conference about the
government transition process,
he also highlighted the work
done by 129 working groups and
the participation, for the first
time, of representatives of
popular organizations.
He revealed that several bodies
refused to give information to
MAS (Movement towards Socialism)
experts working in the
transition, particularly
regarding intelligence and
security matters, because, he
denounced, the State has no
sovereignty, it has been divided
and handed over to foreign
powers.
Juan Ramon Quintana, responsible
for the political aspect of the
transition, said that security
bodies suffered dismantling and
account for their performance to
foreign agencies, rather than to
the State.
After referring to US
interference, the
president-elect said the
situation confirms the need, as
he stated during his election
campaign, to re-nationalize the
State, its institutions and
natural resources in order to
exercise sovereignty.
In this regard, Morales said
that after assuming the
presidency he will start a
process to regain sovereignty
and dignity of the Bolivian
State.
