Another Cold Front Bring Rain
and Cold Temperatures to San
José
"I brought my winter coat with
me" was the comment of one
visitor this week to Costa Rica,
as news spreads to those
planning of visiting Costa Rica,
that it is cold. And they are
right, though, the a light
jacket or sweater is more
appropriate.
And don't forget the umbrella.
Another cold front is affecting
the entire country, especially
the Central Valley (San José)
where it seems like the 'rainy'
season had returned yesterday,
with clouds, light to moderate
rain in most areas and a cold
chill in the wind.
The beaches, however, are sunny
and hot. Passengers coming off
Sansa flights at the Juan
Santamaría airport from the
beach towns of Quepos and
Tamarindo where surprised of the
drastic change in weather, where
less than an hour earlier they
were in the sun and heat.
The Instituto Meteorológico
Nacional (IMN) says that weather
pattern will continue for most
of this week.
The Caribbean and Northern Zone
are the most affected by the
cold front, that is spilling
into the Central Valley.
The expected high in San José is
22 Celsius (72 Fahrenheit) in
the day and 17 Celsius (62 at
night, down from the normal of
28 Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) and
20 Celsius (68 Fahrenheit).
