Limón is the province with the
highest number of bicycle
accidents and deaths, accounting
for 11 of the 40 deaths
involving a cyclist for 2005. A
total of 278 persons lost their
lives in traffic accidents
during the year 2005, in the
majority of the cases
carelessness was the cause.
