Evo Morales Visits S Africa
President-elect of Bolivia Evo
Morales, 46, kicked off this
Tuesday a two-day official visit
to South Africa, where he will
meet with Head of State Thabo
Mbeki.
After arriving at this city’s
international airport, the
leader of the Movement towards
Socialism (MAS) said, “I am very
happy to be in that country to
exchange experiences.”
Morales’ agenda also includes a
visit the Museum of Apartheid,
as well as talks with African
National Congress (ANC) general
secretary Kgalema Motlanthe,
among other activities.
After his December 18 election,
he started a world tour that
began in Cuba and took him then
to Venezuela, Spain, Belgium,
Netherlands, France and China.
According to reports from MAS,
Morales will also visit
Argentina has talks scheduled
with the heads of state of
Paraguay, Chile and Ecuador
before he is sworn in as
president on January 22.
